MORE FLYING BOMBS

LONDON AREA ALERT Recd. 11.55 p.m. London, Sept. 18. A few flying bombs landed in southern England last night, Including the London area. Night fighters shot down a number. Londoners, taking advantage of th* relaxed blackout regulations operating fo rthe first time yesterday had to hastily replace opaque curtates when the London area had an alert soon after darkness fell. Two flying bombs, which crossed the east coast, dropped in southern England. The all clear was sounded a few minutes later. LIGHTS GO ON AGAIN Recd. 11.45 p.m. London, Sept. 18. Crowds gathered in Leicester, Newcastle, Birmingham and other cities to see modified lighting turned on. Many young children who had never seen street lights were brought out for the occasion.
