MARSHAL PETAIN

SAID TO BE ARRESTED Recd. 1.15 a.m. London, Aug. 22. It is reported that Marshal Petain, head of the French Government which capitulated to Hitler in 1940, is reported to have been arrested by the Gestapo. An agency correspondent at Geneva says that the reports come from a very reliable source, and that the Marshal had been removed from Vichy to an unknown destination.
