PATRIOTIC FUNDS (0.C.1 Hunterville, June 16. Collectors in various parts of the district are at present engaged at soliciting donations lo the 1944 all purposes patriotic appeal. The district's allocation is something over f!800 and preliminary reports indicate that good results are being achieved. The secretary (Mr. D. S. GENERAL ITEMS As the result of lhe recent fancy dress parade held by the Hunterville Consolidated School the sum of £42 was raised for the School Improvement Fund. • Suffering from sljock as the result of severe burns sustained when a saucepan of milk was overturned, the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Sextus, Vinegar Hill, is at present, a patient in the Whare Ora Hospital. The child is making good progress. The six monthly opening ol mission boxes at. the monthly meeting of lhe Presbyterian Women's Missionary Union thsi week revealed that close on £3O of lhe branch's quota of £4O has been raised. Mrs. G. Snadden presided and conducted a talk and discussion on “The Women of India.”
