BACK FROM PACIFIC
FURTHER N.Z. DRAFT IN AUCKLAND (P.A.) Auckland, June 15. A further party of soldiers who have been on service with the Second N.Z.E.F. in the Pacific has returned to | New Zealand for disposal to essential industry. The men are being quartered at Papakura Camp, where attention is being given Io the necessary administrative details, and they will be sent to their home centres as rapidly as possible. All the men will be given 28 days’ leave with pay from the date on which they arrive at their home centres and at the end of that period they will be placed G’.i indefinite leave without pay and will be available for direction to essential employment by the manpower officers. A reception was held for the men at the camp. Speeches of welcome were given by the officer commanding the Northern Military District, Major General P. H. Bell, the Mayor, Mr. J. C. Allum, the director of rehabilitation, Colonel Baker, and by a representative of the Returned Services’ Association.
