WANGANUI PROVINCIAL ANNUAL MEETING DIFFICULT TO SUPPLY HOUSEKEEPERS It was stressed in the annual report submitted to the annual meeting of the 'Wanganui Provincial district of the Women’s Division of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union yesterday, that a great deal of difficulty is being experienced in supplying housekeepers at present. The housekeeping report stated 4 that more applications for housekeepers were coming in than could be filled at present. “It is heart-breaking work these times,” said Mrs. J. C. Wickham, who presided, paying tribute to the work of Miss McDonald, housekeeping secretary, who was awarded a vote of thanks. A motion of sympahty was conveyed to Mrs. Carson, who has lost another son at the war, and to Mrs. K. Cave, who had suffered a bereavement in the loss of her husband. The annual report and balancesheet were adopted. Tributes were paid to the secretary (Miss Polson), the treasurer (Miss Wyley), and the housekeeping secretary (Miss McDonald). In her annual yeport, Mrs. Wickham referred io the acquiring of two new rest home*; ias a great advance in the work of the division. The scheme Io run the three homes under one fund, and an effort to raise £5OOO to endow that fund, was meeting with success. Another matter of importance was the making of interprovincial conferences part of the constitution. A remit from the National Council of Women was endorsed, and remits for the Women's Division conference were discussed.Mrs. S. Scott took the chair for the election of officers, which resulted as follows: —President. Mrs. J. C Wickham; vice-presidents, Mrs. McPhail, Mrs. McFarlane and Miss McDonald; secretary, Miss M.
