SUPREME COURT SESSIONS

NEW JUDGE TO PRESIDE IN WANGANUI Appointed to Ihe Supreme Court Bench in October of last year, Mr. Justice Finlay will preside at the quarterly session of the Supreme Court, Wanganui, which opens at 10.30 a.m. on Monday. It will be His Honour's first visit to Wanganui in this capacity. Mr. Justice Finlay was formerly a prominent member of the Supreme Court Bar in Auckland, where he practised for 20 years. He was elevated to the Supreme Court Bench to preside over the new Court set up under the Servicemen's Settlement and Rehabilitation Land Sales Act. The new Judge was born at Thames and at one time was in partnership with Mr. W. J. Broadfoot, M.F., in a legal firm at Te Kuiti. Under the constitution of the new Court, Mr. Justice Finlay's appointment meant an additional Judge for the Supreme Court Bench. His Honour will arrive at Wanganui this afternoon.
