BOWLING AT MARTON

“FONSONBY” PAIRS TOURNEY. A successful pairs tournament, played on the “PonsOnby” system, was held by the Marton Bowling Club yesterday. R. Callan won the skips’ section with four wins, the runner-up being T. Barton with three wins and a draw. R. Lewis won four games in the leads’ section, the runner-up being J. Bland, with three wins and a draw. Twelve pairs competed. The skips were: Barton, Hempieman, Caverhill, Hamer, Atkinson, Hawkins, Den’bow, Way, Morris, Gibbs, Callan and Todd. The leads were: Gorrie, Dashwood, Clark, Black, Nicholson, Jonski, Radich, Lewis, Gardner, J. Bland, Morgan and McGregor.
