WOMEN’S BASEBALL

DRAW FOR SATURDAY. The games scheduled for Saturday under the control of the Wanganui Women’s Baseball Association are being looked forward to with interest, because Amazons meet Hinemoa. Amazons have one defeat while Hinemoa have won both of their championship matches. Should Amazons defeat Hinemoa it would then make Amazons, Hinemoa and Dodgers equal for to commence the second round, provided of course that Dodgers defeat Star. Star should play a good game, and fully extend Dodgers. In the second section Hinemoa play Dodgers A, which should be a good game. On account of most of the Kia Toa team going out of tbwn, they have defaulted to Dodgers B, who are going to have a practice game with Dodgers A. In the Secondary Schools’ Competition Convent A. meets Convent B and Technical A plays Technical B. The draw is as follows:—No. 1 Section : Dodgers v. Star No. 1 diamond, 2 p.m. (umpires N. Hood and M. McIntyre); Hinemoa v. Amazons No. 1, 3.15 p.m. (umpires D. Buck and K. Rivers). No. 2 section: Hinemoa v. Dodgers A, No. 2,2 p.m. (umpire, K. Rivers); Dodgers B v. Dodgers A, No. 2, 3.15 p.m., practice game. Secondary schools, (Victoria Park): Technical A v Technical B, 2 p.m. (umpire, A. Gurney); Convent A V. Convent B; match to be played in morning at 10 a.m.
