WAVERLEY DEMONSTRATION

UISPLAY OF M AR EQUIPMENT. Tanks, armoured vehicles, artillery and planes will take part in a large demonstration to be held in Waverley on Friday afternoon. July 2, in support of the Third Liberty Loan. The precession, which will include General Stewart tanks. Bren-gun carriers, 18-pounder field artillery, jeeps, .37 millimetre guns, etc., wili move through the town shortly alter 3 p.m. and will then line up in Main Street to enable people to inspect the type of equipment that is used in modern warfare. During these activities a flight of planes will cross over the town and drop Liberty Loan leaflets. Many of these leaflets will be endorsed with instructions which will authorise the lucky finders to present them to the selling stalls and receive in exchange free Liberty Loan Bonds. Selling centres will be established in Main Street and mobile bond sellers will operate throughout the populated area. During the week special displays of Army equipment, etc., will be a feature of the shop windows. It is the stated intention of Waverley people that the high prestige of t’his town in loan subscriptions wilt be well maintained in the Third Liberty Loan.
