CAPITAL ESTIMATES
HOSPITAL EXPENDITURE FOR COMING YEAR Provisional capital estimates alfor. an expenditure of 1113,536 during the next financial year have been approved by the Wanganui Hospital Board. Estimated maintenance costs have yet to be framed. After submission to the Department of Health for approval the estimates will be confirmed at the board’s April meeting. The capital estimates proved for an expenditure of £5913 for the replacement of loans, £4060 for the Raetihi Hospital, £5255 for the Taihape Hospital, £7OO for the Jessie Hope Gibbons Maternity Hospital, £77,235 for the Wanganui Hospital, £950 for the Waimarino Ambulance, £5OOO for a deficiency in the Raetihi loan, £20,000 for the Jubilee Home (Aramoho), and £421 for sundries.
Proposed expenditure at the Wanganui Hospital includes £3OOO for reroofing the main building, £6500 for sanitary annexes, £45,000 for a new engine-room, laundry and workshops. £20,000 for additions to the Nurses’ Home, £525 for X-ray equipment, and £275 for a portable X-ray unit. Equipment for the Raetihi Hospital is expected to cost £lOOO, and £2500 is provided for a water supply scheme for that institution.
A boiler-house for the Taihape Hospital is estimated to cost £3lOO and renovations to the main building are estimated at £675.
