CHANGES IN TEACHERS
PROTEST BY COMMITTEE A protest at what it described as unnecessary changes of teachers was made by the committee of the Foxton School in a letter received by the Wanganui Education Board yesterday. The committee also requested that the present secondary staff be continued. Reporting on this position, the secretary, Mr. G. N. Boulton, said all members would agree that unnecessary changes in teachers were undesirable and not in accordance with the board’s policy. Changes, however, were due to sickness, resignations, and other causes over which the board had no control. The Foxton School had had few changes in the primary department but in the secondary department was not so fortunate, three changes having been made last year. Mr. Boulton added. After discussing the position with the headmaster and the senior inspector. Mr. B. N. T. Blake, he wa.i of the opinion that there was a case for the retention of three teachers in the secondary department, as it seemed likelv that the roll would increase next year.
