LIQUOR NEAR DANCE HALL (0.C.l Patea, March 15. Charged with having liquor near the Whenuakura Hall while attending a dance there, Colin Raymond MeGonagle. James Pullen, William Bannerman Rogers and John Wilson were each fined £2 (costs Ils) in the Patea Court by Mr. J. H. Salmon, S.M. He assumed the defendants all contributed towards the cost of the beer, said Mr. Salmon, and thev must therefore share the responsibility. The jar was ordered to be returned to the licensee. Defendants all pleaded guilty. Constable Kellv said that at 10.15 n.m. on February 18 he and Constable Smith found Rogers' car in front of the Whenuakura Hall. There was a two-gallon jar containing beer in the car. Pullen was in the car, and the others alongside. They admitted the offence frankly.
