REGENT THEATRE

Battlin —and batterin!—each other to a standstill, two of Hollywood's most likeable “tough guys" come to the Regent Theatre to-day in Columbia's hectic “Two Yanks in Trinidad," which is said to be a ribtlcrling, blood-tingling story of America’s danger-talked defence outposts. The new film, in which lovely Janet Blair shares stellar honours with the fist-singing stars, was directed by Gregory Ratoff, whose cast includes Donald Macßride, Roger Clark and John Emery. “Two Yanks in Trinidad,” as its name implies, is the light-filled narrative of 1942's A.E.F. New York is too small a town to contain, in peace and plenty, the “gentlemanly” racketeers portrayed by Messrs. O’Brien and- Donlevy. Pat is forced to dodge the mobsters thrust upon him by his erstwhile “pal;” he joins the Army and discovers he doesn’t like it—and then things start. The associate feature, "Thieves Fall Out,” is one of the season's gayest laugh hits, and stars Eddie Albert and Joan Leslie.
