SUBSTANTIAL INCREASE SHOWN Rates collected by the Wanganui City Council before the imposing of the 10 per cent, penalty yesterday totalled £126,694, compared with £126,077 last year. This represents a payment of 94.69 per cent., as against 94.22 per cent, last year, an increased percentage of .47. On four days of this week the amount received was £3528 less than the corresponding four days last year, payments being £20,960, compared with £24,488.
