BIRTHDAY CELEBRATED The Aramoho Women’s Institute celebrated its birthday party on February 12 in the Druids’ Hall, Aramoho. The president, Mrs. K. C. Weils, welcomed all present and said she hoped members and visitors would enjoy the programme which had been arranged by the Garden Circle. After •he usual opening followed by the observance of two minutes’ silence, a short session of business was dealt with and the correspondence road by the secretary, Mrs. Pye. The motto was “The Crown of Good Disposition is Humility,” and the roll call, “A quick tea.” It was reported that Mrs. Woodley has a supply of wool for knitters, and members were asked to get in touch with her.
A reminder was given that written nominations for the election of officers to take place at the March meeting are to be in the hands of the secretary, Mrs. Pye, by February 26. Mrs. J. G. Denniston spoke on “Radiolocation.” and appealed for recruits. and also asked for helpers for camouflage net making. Messages of good wishes and congratulations were received from sister institutes and Townswomen’s Guilds. A pleasing gesture was the handin" of a floral spray to each member and visitor as they entered the hall. The Garden Circle, with Mrs. Litchfield as president, and Mrs. D. Gifford Moore as secretary, took charge of the social part of ihe gathering, fi'ie programme included much appreciated sone's by Mrs Da rev Praston and Mrs. G. W. Perrett. Mrs. Greenwood accompanying the former and Mrs. Tizard Ihe latter singer. Mrs. Mew nlayed for the community sinking, led bv Mrs. Gifford Moore.
