NORTHLAND SCRUB FIRE
(P.A.) Whangarei, Feb. 16. Breaking out on the outskirts of Paparoa township yesterday afternoon a fire swept 300 acres of scrubcovered land owned by Mr. C. Quaife. It destroyed an unoccupied fiveroomed house and was only stopped from spreading into Paparoa by a tidal river. Some valuable native bush was wiped out.
