FATAL INJURIES

MAN CAUGHT IN BELTING (P.A.) Blenheim, Feb. 15. Caught in the b iting of a stone crushing plant at Waihopai riverbed, Joseph Thomas Jaspers, married, aged 30, of Nelson, received fatal injuries. The accident happened at knock-off time on Saturday after the engine had actually been turned off. Jaspers fell against the main belt, and the last revolutions of the machinery dragged him round inflicting terrible leg injuries. He succumbed shortly afterwards in the Wairau Hospital.
