WOMAN’S DEATH
FALL FROM TRAIN ACCIDENT NEAR MARTON (0.C.) Marton, Jan. 3. While a train was travelling between Marton and Greatford on Saturday night a woman was seen to fall from an engine cowcatcher. The train was stopped but the woman was found to be dead. The bojly was conveyed to the Greatford station by the train, where it was identified as Mrs. Ellis, of Woodville. Mystery surrounds her movements prior to the tragic occurrence.
Mr. Ellis was waiting for his wife on the Palmerston North railway station when informed of the accident.
An inquest was opened at Greatford this morning before Mr. J. S. Tingey, coroner, for the purpose ot identification and was adjourned sine die.
