LURED TO DESTRUCTION
JAP TRICKED INTO CRASH London. Dec. 29. A New Zealand fighter pilot serving with the R.A.F. in India lured a Japanese pilot into crashing his plane. The New Zealander found the Jap on his tail in an air battle over Chittagong during a Japanese raid. He immediately dived his fighter towards a tree-topped ridge and the Japanese pilot followed. Close to the ridge the New Zealander zoomed upwards again, but the Japanese apparently knew nothing about hedge-hopping and plunged onwards towards the ridge. When the New Zealander looked back- he could see smoke rising from among the trees on the ridge.
