WARNING TO GERMANS
LOST IF THEY WEAKEN London, Dec. 28. In a Christmas leading article of an unprecedentedly serious tone. the Frankfurter Zeitung urges Germans to the greatest exertions and warns that if they weaken they will "be lost externally and be delivered to a merciless destiny. Not only is German life and the German state threatened, but all German soil.” The paper urgently appeals to those displaying indifference to remember that the greatest stakes are involved. "Only those believing firmly in German victory can believe in the future of the German soul,” it adds.
