Record Note Issue Reserve Bank statistics ind'cat.e that money is being freelv spent in the Dominion. The note issue on December 14 reached the new record high level of £29.987.690. an increase since December 7 of no less than £1.344.413. During 1942 the note issue in New Zealand has shown a far more rapid increase than in the earlier war vears. On December 15. 1941. the note issue totalled f‘23.761.031, compared with £22.334.796 on December 16. 1940. an increase of £1.426 235 for the 12 months. In the preceding 12 months the increase was £3.358.050. and in the neriod from December 19. 1938 .to December 19. 1939, the increase was £2,677.976. In the last 12 months, from December 15. 1941, till December H. 1942, the increase has been £6.226,659.
