CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS
CITY COUNCIL OFFICES Following a decision reached by the Wanganui City Council at a special meeting last night, the offices of the town clerk and city engineer will close from December 2 to January 3, inclusive, for the Christmas and New Year holidays. It was decided to close the Gas Department office, Victoria Avenue, from December 25 to December 27, inclusive, and from January 1 to January 3, inclusive. Similar holidays will be observed by the office of the Tramways Department. The Alexander Public Library will close on December 25 and 26 and on January 1 and 2. The Sarjeant Gallery and Women’s Rest, St. Hill Street, will elose on Christmas Day.
