DISTRICT NURSING LEAGUE Support for the Wanganui District ! .Nursing League Christmas appeal is ; being sought by Mrs. M. Hair, presi- ; dent. Yesterday Mrs. Hair said that, . through the kindness of the public oi Wanganui and district, the league ; had been able to give extra comforts to those who were unable to help themselves because of illness or old age. It was the aim of the league to brighten the homes of those people on Christmas Day. Donations may be left at the ( '‘Chronicle” office or may be sent to Miss M. Kennedy, 102 Harrison Street. The following amounts are acknowledged: £1 each, Mrs. Thornton, Clive, Hawke’s Bay, Miss F. Siddells, Paraparaumu, Mrs. H. Lewis, Sydney; 10s each: Mesdames Hair. Peck, G. Currie, McDougall, Roche, Hanson, Miss Fraser; 5s each: Mesdames McGregor, Curtis, McNab, Welsh, G. Mcßeth, Dustin. Miss Kennedy; 2s 6d: Mrs. Ashwell, Ractihi—total £8 7s 6d.
