NEARLY TEN MILLION BY NEXT YEAR (Reed. 11 p.m.) Washington. Nov. 10. President Roosevelt told his press conference that the United State: planned to have roughly 9,700,00 C men in the armed services by the end of 1243. Of these the Army is expected to increase from the existing 4,500,000 to 7,500,000, the Navy from the present 1,000,000 to 1,500,000, and the Marine Corps and Coastguaro from 400.000 to 700,000. The nation, added Mr. Roosevelt ' had J.O find 4,000,000 to 5.000,000 more ■ people for the fighting forces, and men must be found to take care of the food problem and industrial production which had not yet reached its peak.
