BLANKETS FOR DISCHARGED SOLDIERS

APPEAL TO GOVERNMENT (P.A.) Wellington, Sept. 28. An acute shortage of blankets and the unfortunate position of servicemen in this respect subsequent to their discharge led to the Dominion Council of the Returned Services’ Association passing a resolution appealing to the Government to make blankets available for purchase to these men. The association has been advised that blankets will be made available as quickly as possible and local associations will advise the Ministry of Supply of the most necessitous cases. The Minister of Supply said every effort must be made to supply the men with their requirements, hut the heavy demands of the defence forces limited the number of blankets available.
