PETROL RATIONING
NATION-WIDE IN U.S.A. (Rc*cd. 8 p.m.) Washington, Sept. 26. The nation-wide rationing of petrol to conserve tyres has been ordered by Rubber Administrator Jeffers. Ho also called for a speed limit of 35 miles an hour throughout the country, which would not only save petrol but extend the life of tyres 40 per cent.
