FRENCH GENERALS MAY BE IN ENGLAND
WEYGAND AND GIRAUD (Recd. 9.20 p.m.) New York. Sept. 26. It is persistently rumoured from Fiance that Generals Weygand and Giraud eluded the vigilance of guards and escaped to England. Vichy has not mentioned their whereabouts in the last two months. General Weygand was last reported when he arrived at Aix le Bains for a cure. General Giraud was last mentioned when interviewing Marshal Petain after his escape from Germany.
