POPPY DAY APPEAL
a I SATISFACTORY EFFORT IN WANGANUI With several returns yet to be received. the proceeds of the sale of poppies, including Tuesday’s and yesterday’s street appeal in Wanganui, have reached approximately £34(1. ’ “This is very gratifying ” said Mr F. G. Seddon, secretary of the Wanganui R.S.A., commenting on the appeal last night. He said lhe association was very appreciative of the effo- of the collectors and all who had assisted in the appeal. Mrs. N. R. Bain, president of the Victoria League, expressed her thanks to the collectors, who included Victoria League members, and helpers from women's organisations, including the W.W.S.A. Transport Section. She thanked those who had contributed to the appeal, which had been so successful.
