FOR TRIAL IN SUPREME COURT

PACIFIST SECRETARY (P.A.) Wellington, April 22, The secretary of the New Zealand Pacifist Society, Archibald Charles Barrington, and the secretary of the Fellowship of Conscientious Objectors, John Michael Davis, were committed to the Supreme Court for trial, in the Magistrate’s Court to-day, on charges of publishing or attempting to publish subversive statements. The charges were heard by Mr, J, L. Stoi >, S.M. The charges against Barrington referred to matter contained in the society's bulletins, which ar. cyclostyled and typewritten and Issued only to members of the society. The charges against Davis concerned statements in cyclostyled newsletters issued by the fellowship. Both were allowed bail.
