TAIHAPE MEETING HELI) (0.C.) Taihape; March Id., ' The annual committee meeting of the Taihape British and Foreign Bibb 1 Society was held in the Methodic i Church. The president, Mrs. D. G. Gordon, staled that during 1941 ! nearly £2O was collected in Tai- | hape and district, an increase of £5 1 on the preiovus year's total. The Rev. L. Gilmore conducted the meeting. The following officers were elected: President Mrs. D. G. Gordon; vicenresidents. ministers of the town. Dr. G. N. Mac Diarmid and Mrs. de | Lautour: secretary, Mrs. W. _M. ; Smallfield: treasurer, Mr. F. Gledhill. 1 A vote of thanks was eased to Mrs. j McLaren, the retiring secretary, for live years' untiring service. Miss Berg, lhe district organiser, addressed the meeting and reported on increased saP’s of Bibles in many parts of the world especially the Far East. On Sunday evening Miss Berg addressed the Methodist Church congregation and gave an insight into the world-wide work carried out by th” Bible Society of diu ributing the Scriptures in over 700 languages.
