HITHER AND THITHER
Keith Street School. A gala day was held in the Keith Street Infant School, when pupils were treated with ice creams and sweets. Children were dressed as cowboys, fairies, sailors and princesses and held dances on the lawns. They were later addressed by their former head teacher, Miss E. N. Sampson. ■ and Miss Cavell introduced the new headmaster. Mr. W. I’. Williams. A ■ | produce stall stocked by parents was * i opened and afternoon tea was served •! to those present. Competitions rei suited: Pullover, Mr. J. Matthews; ' I bag of sugar. Mrs. L. Barsanti; worked I apron, Mr. J. Stent; canary, Mrs. J. ■ I Matthews. i Flowers Presented. During the break-up ceremony of the Gonville School Mrs. K. Gould . presented bouquets to Mesdames A. M. Laing, \V. J. Rogers, J. C. Batt, J. Montague, Flynn, Donaghy, Lockett. Luff, and Anderson, and women teachers Misses Tremlow, Woofliams, Huston, Webb, Riley, taze, and Shaw. Flowers were also handed to Mrs. Gordon, wife of Major R. K. Gordon, now a prisoner of war in Germany, ' who was teaching at the school before ' enlisting, and Miss Tuffin, a past teacher of the school, and Nurse : Heberly, the school dental nurse.
