FRUIT CROPS DAMAGED

HAH. SHOWERS IN HASTINGS (Press Assn.) Hastings, Dec. 1. Some damage was caused to pip fruit crops on Saturday afternoon by heavy hail showers in the Hastingdistrict. Hail fell in sharply defined areas, sonfr orchards suffering severely while neighbouring areas escaped damage. With the hail came the first appreciable rain for some time, and I gardens will benefit. The weather is fine and overcast to-day after showers | overnight.
