CRICKET MATCH AGAINST WANGANUI SIDE MARiiIX OF SIXTY-SEVEN Kt XS As a prelude to a game with the Wellington representative cricket team on Saturday next, the Waiouru Military Camp eleven played a Wanganui team on Saturday on the Collegiate School ground, and won by a margin of 67 runs on the flrst innings. Wanganui opened the batting on a drying wicket and could do nothing against effective bowling, backed up by keen fielding, and was disposed of for the small total of 78. G. H. F. Newman, a Collegiate School player, was top-scorer with 20. His total included one six and one four. N. Gallichan. the former New Zealand representative, claimed live batsmen for 14 runs, while D. Brooker, a Duntroon first eleven man. took three for 16. Waiouru gave an indication of its batting strength by compiling 145 for the loss of six wickets, and declaring. M. P. Donnelly, the New Zealand representative, hatted attractively for 66. and retired after being at the crease 50 minutes. His total included eight fours and two sixes. He received good support from N. Gallichan. 25. and W. Burgess 21. Gallichan hit one six and four fours, and Burgess three fours. D. McCarthy, two for 43. and J. A. Bergerson. two for 46. secured the nest bowling figures on the Wanganui ' side. In a second innings, lasting an hour , and a-half.
