SWIMMING AFFAIRS

DURIE HILL CLUB GOOD ATTENDANCE AT ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Durie Hill Swimming Club was held on Thursday night. There was a good attendance. Mr. R. Senior Partridge presided. The chairman of the Durie Hill School Committee, Mr. G. Caird, congratulated the club on its successful operations last season, and said that the School Committee had decided to offer the use of the baths to the club on the same terms as last year. It was decided to arrange a working bee to whitewash the baths in readiness for the opening of the season. Arrangements were made to have the junior diving championship certificate, won by Royce Stringer, framed and presented to him in the baths. Officers elected were: Patron, Miss M. A. Duncan; president, Mr. R. Senior Partridge; vice-presidents, Mesdames F. C. Jannings and H. Hermans, Messrs. J. Windelburn, J. W. Browne, A, F. A. Woollams, and A. Muller; captain, Mr. R. Horne; vice-captain, Mr. L. N. Fletcher; secretary, Mrs. L. N. Fletcher; committee, Messrs. J. Hughes, J. Geoffic, K. Burtt, J. Singleton, A. W. Stringer and D. Almond; Mesdames J Geoffic, J. Stringer, G. Fisher; auditor, Mr. A. Brown.
