WEDDING

ANDREWS—MATTOCK. A recent wedding which took place at Christ church, Wanganui, was that of Jean “Elsie, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Mattock, Fitzherbert Avenue, to Sebert William Donald, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Andrews, Pahiatua. The bride wore a taffeta finished ivory cream satin gown with long sleeves, V-neckline. and skirt forming a long oval train from two panels at the back. The train was slightlyrucked and adorned with orange blossom horseshoes. Cream velvet roses held in place the long oval train and her shower bouquet was of cream sweet peas, stocks and trailing maidenhair fern. Misses Elvie Edwards and Freda Clark were the bridesmaids. Their frocks, made on similar lines to that of the bride, were of white sheer taffeta with butterfly sleeves, full skirts and red velvet sashes, this colour being repeated in their halos, shoes and bouquets. They wore triple strings of pearls. Mr. Norman Owen and Mr. M. C. Owen, cousins of the bridegroom, were best man and groomsman respectively. The reception took place at Dustin's tearooms, the floral decorations being in a colour scheme of red and white. An ensemble and hat in Indian penny shade and an autumn-toned spray were worn by the bride’s mother. The bridegroom’s mother was in navy blue with matching accessories and wore a spray of autumn-toned flowers. For going away the bride chose a sea blue frock and hat and wore a musquosh fur coat.
