MARTON SALE
The N.Z. Farmers' Co-op Distributing Co. Ltd., report a small yarding of 300 sheep; 30 dairy cattle, and 32 pigs to a good attendance, at the Marton sale.
Good hoggets were in demand and young dairy cows and heifers close to profit were also keenly competed for. Pigs were on a par with previous sales. Quotations: —• Extra good wether hoggets, very forward condition, 20s lOd; forward ditto, 17s; medium. 14s lOd; good ewe hoggets, 24s to 265; fat ewes, 13s 7d to 13s 10d: fat wethers, 265; well bred Jersey heifers at drop to 12s sd; later calvers, £6 5s to £8; good second and third calvers, £lO to £l2 10s; others, £8 to £9; older cows, £4 10s to £6; aged ditto, £2 10s; fat cows, ex dairy, £5 2s 6d to £6 4s; best weaner pigs, 26s to 275; smaller. 22s to 25s 6d.
