REPRIMANDED BY RUGBY UNION

LINWOOD CLLB COACH PLAYED UNREINSTATED LEAGUE PLAYER. (Press Assn.) Christchurch, Aug. 12. The suspension of the coach of tlie Linwood Rugby Club’s senior team for playing an unreinstated League player in his team, has been lifted, the New Zealand Rugby Union having approved the Canterbury Union’s action in suspending the official temporarily and severely reprimanding him. At a meeting of the management committee of the Canterbury Union a letter was received from the secretary of the New Zealand Union advising that after giving the matter full consideration the committee endorsed the Canterbury club's action in suspending the club coach and administering a severe reprimand, and it was decided that no action be taken against the Linwood Club. Mr. E. V. Phillips, president, said this meant that the coach was severely reprimanded and was reinstated.
