CAMPAIGN CONDEMNED REACTION BY MR. W. M. HUGHES (Recd. 12.5 a.m.) Sydney. July 29. The Minister of the Navy, Mr. W. M. Hughes, to-day express'd an objection to the V campaign. He said the -~ese'T was the time for action no*
slogans. . e emphasised that V stood not only for victory, but also stood for Vichy, which bad twice betrayed the democratic cause.
He added that it would be better employed concentrating on the life and death struggle ahead, instead of wasting time on slogans and jokes.
