RELATED TO CYLINDER

CYPRINE AT MARTON. Cyprine, who flashed over the line almost on terms with Spliced and Matalite in the Glenmore Maiden First Division on Saturday, to be placed third, is a younger half-brother to Cylinder, a class performer a decade ago. Cymene, dam of the pair, was imported from England by Mr. J. F. Buchanan in 1921, and Cylinder was her second foal. However, Mr. A. B. Williams had secured Cymene in the meantime, and it was in that sportsman’s colours that Cylinder did all his racing. Cymene has produced nine foals, but with the exception of Cylinder they have done little of moment. Cyprine may do much towards improving the family's record.
