MATAROA NOTES
EUCHRE PARII AND DANCE Friday night’s euchre and dance was organised by Mr. and Mrs. L. Lovell and Mr. and Mrs. H. Bosher and was a huge success. Approximately f2O was paid in to the treasurer of the Western Country Queen Committee. The euchre prizes were won by Miss V. Ward and Mr. H. Bosher, consolation prizes going to Mrs. L, Lovell and B. Beckett. Competitions resulted as follows: Ham, Mr. Raynor, Utiku; four prizes, each of a quarter of lamb, Mrs. L. Goodrick. Mrs. Meredith, Mr. Fred Arrow, Mr. McLennan; fl trophy, Mr. Peter King; two geese, kindly donated by Mrs. Jacobsen, were won by Miss L. McKinnon and Mr. Pat Brooky Cakes were .uctioned by Mr. F. Ward. For the dancing, music was supplied by Arrow's Melody-makers. Extras w re supplied by Messrs. R. Marks a.id P. Arrow. Mr. George Whale was M.C. Two Monte Carlo waltzes were won by Mr. and Mrs. D. Burnett and Mr. and Mrs. P. Arrow.
