’ PATRIOTIC QUEEN CARNIVAL 1250 REQUIRED TO LIFT IT ■ A letter was handed to the chairman of the City Patriotic Committee, Captain H. M. Keesing, at the opening of the Wanganui Patriotic Queen Carnival yesterday, offering 1100 to the queen candidate whose committee was first to raise 10 separate gifts of 125 for her funds. The donor wished to remain anonymous. It is understood that the amount was lifted in the room.
