GENEROUS SUPPORT
APPRECIATION EXPRESSED WELLINGTON WEST COAST REGIMENTAL BAND Appreciation of the work of supporters of the Wellington West Coast Regimental Band was expressed at the annual meeting by the chairman of the citizens’ committee, Mr. P. J. Cox, who said that the band was rapidly approaching A grade status. He extended congratulations to the bandmaster, Lieutenant A. Ramsay, on his promotion. The statement of receipts and expenditure showed that revenue for the year totalled £209 Ss lid. “A sum which represents a very fair effort under present conditions,” the chairman commented. Contest money and medals accounted for the greater part of the year’s expenditure of £195 19s. Officers elected were: Vice-presi-dents Captain J. Trussell, Lieut.Colonel W. S. McCrorie, Major A. Rennie, Messrs. W. B. Scott, J. Glover and D. Robb; chairman, Mr. P. J Cox; secretary and treasurer, Mr. G. M. Kenyon; auditor, Mr. C. R. White; committee members, Mesdames G. M. Kenyon, E. Macleay, A. White. M. Webb, M. Sheppard, I. Stevens, E Hucklesby, and P. Patchett, Messrs. H. Moore. J. Buller, A. Ramsay, HWilliams, G. M Kenyon, J. Lawrence, M Sheppard, I. Stevens, M. Webb, H. Low, and P. Patchett; finance committee, Messrs. J. Lawrence, H. Moore, and Stevens, with two of the executive officers ex officio. The meeting approved a constitution, the first object of which is to aid and assist the Wellington West Coast Regiment. Meetings will be held on the fourth of each month. The Children’s Garden Circle was thanked for the use of the room.
