OKOIA BRANCH The first meeting for this year was held this week at the home of the president, when a fa-ir number of members were present. The treasurer's report showed a sound financial position, both in the bank and also the patriotic account. Correspondence was read from Kaukatea and Okoia Schools, returning thanks for donations given at prize-giving time; also other letters of thanks.
After discussing a letter from the secretary of the Air Force Relations’ Committee,- it was decided to forward a donation to that deserving cause, and to canvass all the members for contributions towards the different stalls to be held at the Caledonian Fair in the garage next to the Farm Equipment shop in Maria place in the first week in March. It was decided to forward a letter and parcel to a member's son, who is ill in military hospital; also a parcel is to be made up this month for each soldier overseas belonging to the district. The schedule for the annual flower show afternoon was drawn up, and the show will be held at the hall on the last Tuesday in February. All members are specially requested to do all they can for this function. More interest and enthusiasm is needed to help win this \yar, and every,
little bit members do for the organisation to which they belong will help. A vote of thanks to the president for the use of her home and serving tea, closed the meeting.
