WEDDING
SIMS—RITCHIE A marriage of interest in Raetihi was solemnised recently at her brother’s residence, Karori, Wellington, of Jessie Adair, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Ritchie, St. Kilda, Dunedin, to Sydney, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Sims, of Hamilton. The Rev. A. Salmond, M.A., officiated. The bride, who entered the drawing room on the arm of her brother, Mr. J. G. Ritchie, wore a frock of dove grey marocain with shirred waistband and sleeves, the skirt flaring full at the back. Her picture hat was navy with a deep veil. She carried pink gladioli and carnations. The bride was attended by her sister-in-law, Mrs. J. G. Ritchie, as matron of honour, wearing a frock in two shades of cyclamen marocain with navy accessories and carrying cyclamen gladioli. Dr. J. Bruce Bibby was best man. The reception was held in the dining room which was decorated with pink carnations and blue and pink hydrangeas. The guests were received by the bride’s mother, who wore a model frock of black with touches of white and carried scarlet roses. When the bride and bridegroom left later for a tour of the North Island, Mrs. Sims wore a navy sheer frock with white hat, shoes and gloves.
