MESSAGE FROM HON. W. PERRY
PATRIOTIC ART UNION TO-DAY’S APPEAL IN WANGANUI Deputy-chairman of the New Zealand National Patriotic Fund Board, and president of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association, the Hon. William Perry, M.L.C., of Wellington, has sent a special message to the Red Cross Society in Wanganui supporting to-day’s drive to dispose of tickets in the All Purposes Patriotic Art Union. “In connection with the appeal to be made in Wanganui to-day by the Red Cross Society for contributions to the patriotic fund per medium of the sale of tickets in the provincial patriotic art union, these monies will definitely be expended in providing comforts for our sailors, soldiers and airmen, here and overseas. As deputy-chairman of the National Patriotic Fund Board, I can assure all subscribers that every penny will be wisely spent. I wish the ladies of the Red Cross organisation a successful day.”
Mr. Perry's message was received last night by telephone by the honorary secretary of the Wanganui Patriotic Art Union Committee, Mr, F, W. Searle.
