1000 MONTHLY BY MARCH SPEEDING UP ONCE THE AID BILL IS LAW (Br Telesraph—Pr«M Aaeocialiow-Copyrifkl) Received Feb. 5. 8.55 p.m. WASHINGTON, Feb. 4. It is learned from a Government source that 90 per cent, of the United States aircraft production was sent to Britain in December and January, and may exceed 1000 a month by March. After the passage of the Aid <to Britain) Bill, formulas are expected whereby the United States will send planes already attached to the army and navy, including flying fortresses, to Britain in sufficient numbers to back up the British defence against Ihe ‘blitz.’ Unprodueed planes ordered for Britain would be assigned to the United States. The Governors of the States of South Carolina. North Carolina, Arkanas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Virginia and Alabama have telegraphed the Senate Foreign Relations Committee that the passage of the Aid Bill is "essential for the safety of the nation."
