FREEZING CHARGES

MINISTER INTERVIEWED NO DECISION GIVEN The committee representing some of the meat producers supplying the Palea Freezing Works met the Minister of Marketing, the Hon. J. G. Barclay, on Thursday last, when the Minister heard tire committee's representations concerning the charges for freezing meat. The Minister, however, was too new to office to be fully acquainted with the position, and declined to give a decision at that stage. The matter in issue, it is understood, affects the whole of the freezing works from Wellington to Waiters and the Ministerial decision will affect all of the companies on this coast. The subject is, therefore, still sub judice, and until the Minister’s decision is made known no single company is in a position to act.
