NAZIS SAY BRITAIN WILL INVADE EIRE
A STRANGE RUMOUR
LONDON, Jan. 9. The German radio announces that England intends to "invade Eire through Ulster within the next few weeks. The German announcement is careful not to state where the rumour comes from, but adds that if th*' - , should happen Germany will react in the same way as in the case of Norway. The British Board of Trade, stales a British Official Wireless message, has made an order which comes into force on January 20, and which will place Eire in the same position as other countries in the British Empire as far as the control of exports from Eire is concerned. Hitherto it has been possible to give Eire special treatment under which only a short list of goods require licences before they can be expected from the United Kingdom to Eire, but the need for conserving supplies makes it necessary to withdraw these concessions.
