PUBLIC SAFETY REGULATIONS
WORKERS REPLY TO PRIME MINISTER MOVEMENT FOR REPEAL | Per Press Association. J WELLINGTON, Oct. 14. The Building Trades Federation executive, replying to the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser's criticism of the resolution passed on Saturday, said Mr. Fraser’s references to Fascism and Nazism might imply that the building workers were not wholeheartedly opposed to these forces. This is refuted. Desiring unreservedly the overthrow of Fascism, workers believe that such methods as are contemplated in the latest Public Safety Emergency Regulations will not assist that aim. The executive contradicts Mr. Fraser’s suggestion that the industrial movement fully agrees with the regulation. “At least 30 organisations have vigorously protested and no j amount of abuse can hide this fact. Isays the executive, which adds: “Mr. I Fraser appears to resent opposition to I the regulation because the Federation •of Labour has not yet protested.' and says: "Demands have been made already that the federation interview Cabinet urging the repeal of the regulation.”
