Mr. A. J. Petrie, manager of th< Bank of New Zealand at Hunterville has received the appointment of man ager at the bank's Marton branch.
Mr. J. Siddells was elected patron and Mrs. W. Young president at the annual meeting of the Wanganui Women’s Cricket Association last night.
Mr. W. Ruscoe, of the staff of General Post Office, Wellington, is staying with Mr. and Mrs. Bert Collerton, “Opaea,” Taihape. He was postmaster at Ngoawhango 26 years ago.
Mr. Clive Carey, Hon. A.R.C.M., examiner for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, London, is visiting Wanganui and is staying at Braeburn Hotel.
An invitation to the pastor of the Hastings Methodist Church, the Rev. C. H. Olds, to extend his services for a fourth year, was unanimously agreed to at the quarterly meeting of the church. Mr. Olds has accepted the •n--vitation.
Major R. F. H. P . Stuart-French, 11th. Hussars, who has been military secretary to the Governor-General, Viscount Galway, since March, has relinquished his appointment because of ill-health.
Mr. V. A. Kropff, of San Francisco, traffic manager of Pan American Airways’ Pacific Division, and Mr. P. S. Delany, traffic manager for the company in Auckland, left for Sydney by the flying-boat Aotearoa on Saturday morning.
Mr. W. G. Walkley, of Sydney, arrived at Auckland by the flying-boat Awarua on Friday and left for San Francisco by the California Clipper on Saturday morning. Formerly of Hawera, Mr. Walkley was some years ago secretary to the North Island Motor Union.
